17 Recent Amazon Purchases I Love

Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Amazon Prime Day is coming July 12-13, & while I know that a lot of people have stopped using Amazon, I nervously confess here that I still use it with some regularity. I do most of my day-to-day shopping from Target, but there's just so much on Amazon, & it comes so quickly, &... I don't know. This is probably something I need to reckon with, but I'm honestly just not there yet.

I thought I'd share some of my recent favorite purchases. They're all over the place, topics-wise, from home goods to beauty items to completely random shit, but they're all putting in the work for me. Might as well share!

1. Unigear Camping Hammock

This portable, lightweight parachute hammock has tree straps that make it perfect for lounging around in the backyard or while on trips. It's breezy nylon, so it's comfortable & doesn't stick to you when it's super hot. ($21.99)

2. Kitty City Wide Corrugate Cat Scratchers

Dora is obsessed with scratching these, which distracts her from scratching our furniture. We have them in various spots around our house so that wherever she is, she can choose to sharpen her claws on them instead of our beloved couch, chairs, & rugs. ($21.99 for three)

3. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

A friend recommended this small but mighty skin care product for drying out zits overnight. It doesn't work, of course (what does?) but I do think it it helps to shrivel them faster than anything else I've tried. It's a tiny bottle, but you only use a tiny bit. ($16.15)

4. Karafu Heat-Resistant Glass Water Jug with Lid

Mike & I have started making a pot of coffee every night & popping it in the fridge so that we have iced coffee for the next day. This 68-oz. glass pitcher is heat-resistant, so I don't have to worry about pouring piping-hot coffee into it, & it's also just sleek & pretty. ($22.99)

5. ALOHA Organic Plant-Based Protein Bars

I recently worked with a nutritionist (I need to write about it!) who recommended these protein bars above all others. They're vegan, low sugar, gluten-free, Paleo, law-carb, non-GMO, soy-free, & somehow still actually taste great. I love the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip ones. ($23.99 for 12)

6. Stamina Mini Fitness Trampoline

This 36" foldable home trampoline is quiet & supportive & appropriately bouncy, with a safety pad that makes sure it won't fold up while you jump. It's great for home workouts here & there, or just a little jumping while you watch TV. ($67.99)

7. YoulerTedx Quick-Dry Microfiber Hair Turban

I'm trying to treat my wavy hair better & try to really define those waves, so these microfiber towels were a must-own. They're soft, super-absorbent, & fast-drying, & they can hold up to eight times their weight in water. ($9.95 for two)

8. AM NoLimit Reusable Bamboo Paper Towels

These washable, reusable, eco-friendly towels are a sustainable alternative to single-use paper towels. Each sheet is hand-washable in cold water& reusable from 80 to 100 times, making each roll last up to six months. ($6.99 for 20)

9. WANDF Foldable Travel Duffel Bag

This multifunctional duffel comes in 20 colors & folds up super small for simple storage. Conveniently, it's also perfectly sized to fit Spirit & Frontier Airlines' "personal item" requirements & to easily store beneath airplane seats. ($11.99)

10. rabbitgoo Stained Glass Privacy Window Film

I bought this mosaic pattern static window cling to hang in the window in our bedroom closet so that it doesn't look disastrous from the outside. It's easy to hand & has a nice iridescent tint to it that sometimes throws small rainbows. ($11.99)

11. Door Buddy Adjustable Door Latch

One of these was on our basement door when we moved in, & we liked it so much that we ordered more. In this old house, our doors don't all close or stay closed, so these little straps make it easy to keep doors cracked open without flinging open wide. ($31.97 for two)

12. Accuteck Digital Shipping Postal Scale

If you do a lot of home shipping, whether because you sell online or you just love snail mail, this compact digital scale makes it easy to figure out weights & thus shipping prices. For the price, it was a great investment that saves me USPS runs. ($17.60)

13. Arama Noise-Canceling Headset with Mic

I bought this guy  one of the ear pads on my old headset basically disintegrated. This one was inexpensive but is a huge upgrade, as it feels very luxe & fancy. It's soft, it really does block out noose, & my coworkers can always hear me on calls, even if I'm working from Starbucks. ($32.99)

14. Lifewit Collapsible Storage Cubes

Who doesn't need a bunch of organizing bins? I use 11" foldable fabric bins for socks, bubble wrap, tools, & a whole bunch of other random stuff. I like the two-tone coloring, which makes them look a little nicer than others. ($19.98 for six)

15. The Original Foot Alignment Socks

I've been dealing with foot pain, so I bought these toe socks, which feel great. They're said to help relieve pain from bunions, hammer toes, crooked toes & plantar fasciitis, & to improve circulation & promote overall foot health. All I know is I love wearing them. ($26.95)

16. tiptopcarbon Wallpaper Tool Kit

To wallpapered my half-bath, I ordered this basic but helpful kit, which comes with two kinds of squeegees, an exacto knife & extra blades, a blunt seam roller, & a retractable measuring tape. You'd need better stuff for a bigger job, but it's perfect for small ones. ($14.99)

17. Color & Geometry Standing Kitchen Runner Rug

"Rug" is a misnomer, as these rubbery mats are made of non-skid polyvinyl chloride. They're easy on your feet if you have to stand over the stove or sink for a while, & they're easy to clean. They come in five colors & two sizes. ($38.99 for two)
