Livin' the Suite Life... at a Cleveland Browns Game!

Wednesday, December 4, 2019

Late November marked the five-year anniversary of my move back to Northeast Ohio - & I celebrated it by doing one of the coolest things I’ve yet had the opportunity to do in this city.

The fine folks at downtown Cleveland's JACK Casino invited four local bloggers to join them for a Cleveland Browns game, getting a firsthand taste of the ClubJACK experience. It was honored to be selected, & I was thrilled that my friend Marisa agreed to join me. We had such a fun day - & the Cleveland weather even cooperated!

We met at the casino to hop the ClubJACK shuttle (a very swanky party bus) & entered the stadium together to head up to JACK Casino's loge, which was stocked with cozy comfort foods & a fridge of booze... including my basic bitch fave, White Claw in black cherry.

Before the game began, the other three bloggers & I got to go down to the field to watch both team warm up. It was almost overwhelming, standing down there like a little ant-sized speck in a huge stadium as it started to fill to the brim with rowdy fans.

There were actually a lot of other people on the field, too, so it was hard to figure out what to do or where to look - but we took some fun photos & tried to wave to our friends up in the suite.

At 12:30 on the dot, we were ordered to clear the field so the game could begin.

We watched from the suite, both in the seats outside it & on the TV inside, while we chatted, ate, drank, & took way too many photos. Crystal of Eat*Drink*Cleveland joked that if every football game experience were like this, she'd be a die-hard fan!

Another cool bonus? The Stow-Monroe Falls High School Band performed at halftime - the rivals of my own high school's alma mater. As a student, I hated them, like I was supposed to at the time, but as an adult, I was proud to see them out there representing. They did a stellar job.

We also got to meet Browns alum Hanford Dixon, an Alabama native who played his entire NFL career here in Cleveland from 1981-1989... & is credited with creating the famed Dawg Pound! He still lives here in the CLE, where he's a realtor & sports commentator.

When the game was over & the Browns had proven victorious, we hopped back on the shuttle & returned to JACK Casino where, instead of heading straight home, we decided to try our hand at a little poker... & failed so miserably. Hey, it was still fun to try!

We closed out the night with more food, this time from the JACK Casino Buffet. Have you ever been to a casino buffet? Casino buffets are where it's at. I can't even remember what I ate, but I know there was mac & cheese involved.

I'm not much of a gambler, but I do like a good casino adventure every now & then. Experiences like this one are all part of JACK Casino’s ClubJACK players’ experience, which means we Clevelanders can get our Vegas on - without ever leaving the city limits.

We ended the day a little tipsy, very full, & extremely happy. Overall? What a freaking great day. Seriously, it was one of the best experiences I've yet had here in Cleveland.

Now that I've lived that suite life, I wish I could enjoy every game with a view from the top. Alas, I guess I'll have to do it the old-fashioned Cleveland way: tailgating in a parking lot & watching the game all bundled up from the nosebleeds!

Disclosure: In exchange for sharing my honest opinion, I attended the Browns Game as a guest of JACK Casino, which included two tickets to the game, food & drink, & an on-field experience. All opinions are my own.
