It seems like just yesterday we were indulging in "It's gonna be May!" memes, huh? Summer has arrived, & as always, it's sort of hard to believe we're already halfway through the year.
I killed it on my May goals, in part because my May goals were less intense than they've been in months past. But hey, I knew I was going to be gone for half the month, so I kept it simple.
No food delivery. The only time I ordered in was the day after our friends' wedding, more than slightly hungover, which feels acceptable. Other than that, I held fast, so I'm counting this as accomplished.Finish my first pack of Harness Cycle classes.Done. I took 12 classes between April & May! I am honestly so proud of myself for this one & can't wait to get back in the saddle.- Keep up with Mint budgeting. I didn't do a great job of this one, but I also didn't do any frivolous spending, aside from buying some things we needed for our Costa Rica trip. Not ordering in really helped!
Complete E.R. before our honeymoon.I put this off until the last minute because I couldn't bear to be done with this show. I completed the final episode the day before our trip. Sob.Read more books than I did in April.I checked this off before the middle of May hit, dividing up my May book post into two parts. Still can't believe I read so many!Chill the eff out in Costa Rica.Done & done. Do I have to go back to the real world? More updates to come, but for now check out photos on my Instagram.
OK, OK, June goals. Much as I'd love to be back on the beaches of Costa Rica, it's time to get back to my life. Here's what I'm aiming for in June:
- Change my name. This has been on my to-do list in various forms for months, I know, but now that our honeymoon is over, I can go ahead with changing all of it: my Social Security card, my license, my passport, my bank info... I can't wait to be done with this!
- Plan a great baby shower. My best friend Christina is pregnant, & her other BFF & I are planning her hometown shower. It'll be asmall & low-key, but I want to make it perfect for her.
- Get some professional photos taken. I did a dud of a photoshoot last month, & I was so bummed about it that I've committed to getting some better pics taken this month to make up for it. I have a few options in the works that I'm excited about.
- Pay off our honeymoon. We didn't go too far over budget for our Costa Rica trip, but, OK, we did go a little bit over budget. I want to be sure it's all paid off before July comes.
- Keep working out - & maybe step it up. I bought a second pack of Harness Cycle classes, & I'm testing out a subscription to the Sweat app. While I'm a little scared, I'm also looking forward to giving it a go.
- Learn to make gallo pinto. This was the bessssst food we ate in Costa Rica, & we ate a lot of it, especially for breakfast. I want to try to master it so I can enjoy it right here in the CLE.
What do you have planned for June? Comment & let me know what you're working toward... & share your gallo pinto secrets with me if you've got 'em!
