I don't wear heels. Like, ever. I used to, mainly because Cosmopolitan had convinced post-collegiate me that being professional meant towering & teetering - that I would somehow be taken less seriously in the office if I were wearing shoes I could walk in.
My favorite pair of heels, though, comes from Nine West. I like them so much, in fact, that in my heel heyday, I went through a whopping four pairs of them. When I moved out of my mom's house last month, though, I decided I certainly didn't need the two pairs I was still hanging on to - but that I should probably hang onto one, in case I ever wanted to practice twisting an ankle a la Amanda Seyfried on the Vanity Fair red carpet.
Wanting to ensure that I took only the highest quality footwear with me to New Hampshire (snort), I took the most in-tact shoe from each of the two remaining pairs, forming a sort of heel supergroup of sorts, & tossing their shabbier mates into the Goodwill bag.
You know where this is going, don't you?

Ooohhhh, I'm laughing so hard right now.
ReplyDeleteI feel like this is something I would totally do. Very funny.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Amanda Seyfried makes me cringe in pain!
ReplyDeleteAlso? Very funny! But how unfortunate. And quite hilarious because I'm wearing those exact same heels from Nine West today!
ha! oops! I've always thought about buying multiples of shoes I really like. If I do I will stick colored dots in the inside to remind me of the pairs. It sounds like it would be pretty easy to grab two lefts.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute shoes, though. Even though you can't really do anything with them ever again.
ReplyDeleteHahahahha! Oh no! :-O
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA, of course.
ReplyDeleteI also have a pair of those shoes from Nine West, because they are the best. In fact, I was thinking about them this morning (weird) and how I never wear them because they're a wee bit too tall for me these days. So instead I've been wearing my more sensible heel height shoes, still from Nine West, because they're still the best.
I just posted something about heels and used the word "teeter-tottering." I don't usually wear heels because they hurt my feet. Flats are where it's at.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! well, now i know what to get you for your birthday :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes my mom accidentally puts on one navy shoe and one black one and wears it to work and then gets embarrassed. Oh, poor, sweet Mom.
ReplyDeletei lol'd at that picture of the girl rolling her foot! that's so going to be me when i get my new Aldo pumps so i should just shut up!
ReplyDeleteI had a laugh at your expense today.
ReplyDeleteLOL, girl. LOL.
Shoe super group, giggle. This also means that someone at a Goodwill near you might be able to purchase two right feet. That's gotta be a good omen or something, right?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love, love heels. LOVE. Even if they do hurt. Still love.
HAHAHA ohh nooooes!!!!! One time I bought two left shoes and didn't realize it a few days later when I was excited to wear them for a date (super bummer). At least I could go back to the store and claim the right one. Ive always had good experience with the Nine West brand. Actually, most of my "job heels" are NW.
ReplyDeleteomstastic
Ah! Nine West is one of my favorite brands too; totally love them :) I've gone through two or three pairs of the black ones including repairs and a few other pairs too. I also love Rampage heels. I also still wear heels on a regular basis... I don't even know why I do this since I don't need to but I kind of like the height, I guess. Or something.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious. You're a funny girl! Also, totally something I would do. (Also, long-time reader, first-time commenter. Loving your work! :) )
ReplyDeleteI have been led to the same conclusion: the only way to look "professional" is to wear shoes you can't walk in and boring, ugly clothes. I'm not sure where I got my idea, but it sucks. I wear flats when I can, but since I'm coming from and going into professions dominated by older people, I tend to wear heels just to look people in the eye. Otherwise I come up to their noses and I get treated like a child, no matter how great I am at my job.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite genius actually!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Guess that means its time for shoe shopping?
ReplyDeleteoh, the places you'll go. sort of.
ReplyDeletebut those shoes make it worth it.
Bahahahah! Oh no!
ReplyDeleteAnd I actually have those shoes too and am currently on my second pair. I love them so, so much, mostly because I can walk in them without falling to my death.
Haha love it
ReplyDeleteomg, that just made me spit my coffee across my keyboard. hilarious.
ReplyDeleteso your right foot really wears down shoes, doesn't it? :)
